While John’s Gospel does not explicitly record Jesus’s baptism, John’s testimony accords with the scene recorded in Matthew 3:13–17; Mark 1:9–11, and Luke 3:21–22. The baptism is also a testimony of the Spirit, since he descended on Jesus and remained on him.
